And on this day in...

1967 The Daily Mail ran a story about a local council survey finding 4,000 holes in the road in Lancashire. The story  inspired John                 Lennon  in his "I read the news today, oh boy" section of  A Day in The Life on Sgt Pepper. Fancy JL reading the Mail -                         wouldn't happen today.......
