1979 – 16-year-old Brenda Spencer killed two people and wounded nine others when she fired from her house into Grover Cleveland Elementary School in San Diego. When asked why she did it, she said 'I don't like Mondays.' Bob Geldof wrote a song of that title based on the event, a hit for the Boomtown Rats.
